Teacher, Rachel's Music Lessons
I teach voice and piano out of my home studio. Students’ ages range from 5 to 50+. I prepare students for exams (ex. Royal Conservatory of Music), performances (musicals, festivals, recitals etc.), and auditions. Each lesson is designed to fit each student’s abilities and needs.
February - April 2022
Teaching Elementary Piano Course, Royal Conservatory Of Music
This course focused on both elementary piano pedagogy and the structure of the Royal Conservatory of Music's piano Certificate program.
2019 - 2022
Voice/Piano/Flute Teacher, Solfeo Music Academy, Airdrie AB
I taught voice, piano and flute to students of various ages, including group piano classes. I taught online as well as in person. My students participated in Solfeo's recitals as well as the Airdrie Rotary Music Festival.
Graduated June 2019
Master of Music in Vocal Performance and Literature, University of Western Ontario, London ON
In this graduate degree, I performed in opera productions, worked in small ensembles, organized and performed solo recitals, researched and wrote on classical music, and studied languages used in opera (French, Italian, and German). I also worked backstage on opera productions as stage manager, dance captain, spotlight operator, and other tasks. My voice teacher for this degree was Jackie Short. My coach was Paul Digout.
2016 - 2017
Voice/Piano Teacher, Caesar's School of Music, Edmonton AB
I taught voice and piano to students ages 4-50+. I prepared students for exams with the Royal Conservatory of Music, the local Kiwanis Music Festival, and for the school’s year end performance. I taught one-on-one lessons to roughly two dozen students, and taught students how to read music and music theory. I organized and created my own curriculum for each student.

Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance with Distinction, University of Alberta, Edmonton AB
As a part of this degree, I took classes in vocal pedagogy, choral and orchestral conducting, music history, music theory, sociology, music therapy, French, German, and more. I was part of the Madrigal Singers and was their president during our tour to Greece. My voice teacher for this degree was John Tessier. My coach was Shannon Hiebert.
